I first built this pedal when guitarist Eric Zapata asked if I'd do a clone of the Prescription Electronics “Clean Octave Blend”. The one I built for him was used on tour with Gary Clark Jr.

It features 3 controls, a Volume, Octave and Blend. Unlike the Manic Fuzz, which has a switch to turn the octave effect on or off, this circuit uses a potentiometer (the Blend control) to - you guessed it - blend between the octave and clean signals. In this way, you can have a more nuanced control over how much octave tone is in the output vs a boosted clean tone.

My version is built onto a custom designed PCB using my own layout taken from tracing the circuit of an original Prescription Electronics pedal.
